This is the NIOSH firefighter fatality report for the fire in which Inwood FF Joe Sanford passed.
This is in no way meant to criticize anyone or any department. This should be considered, as should all NIOSH reports, as a training tool. Read it, take away from it any deficiencies you may see in your own department to help improve on the your department's operational safety. Please feel free to pass it on to other departments, officers and associations.

NYS Vehicle & Traffic Law Excerpts - Safety Seats & Safety Belts

This links to the seat belt law requiring the use of seat belts in all fire vehicles (not just apparatus) and ambulances that went into effect November 1st, 2016. This is important as it can affect auto insurance and worker's compensation in the event of an accident. You can print out the law (10-a) for your Chiefs and Commissioners.
